Alyssa Morimoto
Board of Directors
Alyssa Morimoto has over 20 years of experience in strategic leadership of global teams and mentoring individuals to help them realize the best version of themselves. Prior to joining the ETA Board, she was involved in the pilot ETA program at Hillsdale High School for over 3 years through multiple roles. She was the parent lead for the development of the first ETA Community Closet, a volunteer at the Peace Pantry food bank, and a founding member of the Donor Fund Committee. She is excited to bring her leadership skills, passion for mentoring, and previous experience with ETA to support its vision and mission.
Alyssa is currently a scientific consultant for biopharmaceutical companies. Previously, she was a drug development scientist at Genentech for over 18 years, working on oncology, ophthalmology,y and autoimmune diseases. She received her BA in Biochemistry from the University of California at Berkeley and her PhD in Molecular Microbiology from SUNY at Stony Brook. She subsequently did post-doctoral fellowships studying receptor tyrosine kinase signaling in Drosophila melanogaster at the University of Washington and the PTEN tumor suppressor at the DNAX Research Institute in Palo Alto, CA.
In her spare time, Alyssa enjoys trying new sports, developing new skills, experimenting with new recipes, travelling, and informally mentoring students she meets. Alyssa is the proud parent of a HHS alum (Kristen, Class of 2022) and a HHS senior (Samantha, Class of 2026).
